CBN extends BVN registration to October 31st

The Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the deadline for the Bank Verification Number, BVN, registration to October 31st. The deadline was earlier fixed today June 30th as the deadline for the registration. Hopefully more Nigerians would have completed their registration before the new deadline elapses

Okada accident in Apapa this afternoon (Graphic Photos)

The fatal accident occured on Creek Road in Apapa Wharf around 2pm today. Two Okada riders collided and ended up under a moving tanker. One Okada man died and the second was rushed to a nearby hospital. More Graphic photos below...

Yesterday June 29th, The 48 year old Martha Binabo who is the wife of former acting governor of Bayelsa state and currently House of Reps member, Nestor Binabo (pictured above), was kidnapped at her warehouse in Bayelsa by five gunmen who wore military uniform.

Tinubu’s N150 bn libel suit against AIT adjourned

An Ikeja High Court in Lagos has adjourned the N150billion libel suit filed by Bola Tinubu against Africa Independent Television, AIT, to September 30th. Bola Tinubu had approached the court after AIT aired a documentary about him titled 'Lion of Bourdillon' during the election campaign period. Bola Tinubu says the documentary was created to tarnish his image.

Prof. Jega bows out of office...Nigerians celebrate him on Twitter!

Today, 30th June 2015, Professor Attahiru Jega officially bowed out of office as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC . He was appointed chairman of the electoral body in 2010 and has conducted two elections, the 2011 and 2015 elections. Professor Jega has handed over to Mohammed Wali, a national commissioner of the electoral body from Sokoto state. Kim Jong Un executes airport architect because he didn't like the airport design

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has executed the chief architect of  the  new international Pyongyang airport...This happened he was pictured touring the building with his wife last week. Reportedly, the architect was executed because Kim didn’t like the design. The project is the country’s latest bid to appeal to potential tourists since Kim ascended to power in North Korea three years ago and features a jewellery store, coffee bar, a pharmacy, a chocolate fountain and other luxury amenities. Until his disappearance last year, Ma Won Chun, was North Korea’s director of the Designing Department of the National Defence Commission. His execution was confirmed when he was noticeably absent from the press photos.

FG orders probe on NNPC over unaccounted N3.8trillion

Yesterday June 29th, The Federal government constituted a four-man committee to probe NNPC over N3.8 trillion unaccounted for by the corporation in the last three years. According to the Edo state governor, who is part of the 4-man probe committee, investigations by the federal government show that NNPC made N8.1 trillion from 2012-2015, paid N4.3 trillion to the federal government and withheld N3.8 trillion which the management of the corporation have not accounted for.

APC insists on Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu's removal

According to the APC, Deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu who is a member of PDP must be removed from office. Senator Ekweremadu who was also the deputy senate president in the last administration, was elected deputy senate president during the controversial senate leadership election on June 9th which produced Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President.
