Today ,Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, paid a condolence visit to the National Youth Service Corps in the state to commiserate with them on the killing of of a corps member, Samuel Okonta, during the re-run election held last Saturday, March 19. Okonta, who served at GCSS Ukpeliede was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Ahoada West L.G.A of the state.

‎ Yesterday March 22nd, the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, said his predecessor who is now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi,  was disgraced during the rerun elections held in the state over the weekend as he, Amaechi, came in noisily but left the state quietly as the results from the election showed the people were for PDP and not for Amaechi's APC.  Wike said this while addressing his party faithfuls at the government house.

Inegite Jonathan, the 72 year old uncle of former President Jonathan, who was kidnapped from his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa on February 17th, regained his freedom yesterday March 22nd. ‎Pa Jonathan was kidnapped at his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa alongside his 35-year-old relative, Samuel Oki, who was later killed by the kidnappers.‎

A Nigerian East Carolina University student, Adedayo Adeniyi was verbally and physically assaulted by a white man at a Donald Trump rally last Wednesday after he was targeted and thrown out for being black, New York Daily News, reports 20-year-old Adeniyi decided to attend the Donald Trump rally in Fayetteville, N.C. not as a protester or demonstrator, but out of curiosity. "I was there just to watch and experience the surreal moment of someone like Trump running for president and speaking to thousands of people," he told the Daily News. Without saying a single word during the entire event, Adeniyi was randomly targeted and thrown out of the event by police as seen and heard on video he recorded. "At first I refused to leave because it was all just a product of being black at a Trump rally. Basically in that environment I'm guilty by association. But common sense told me to just listen to the cops and move along," Adeniy

Reportedly, 25 people were killed while 17 others were seriously injured after a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber attacked a Muslim praying ground in Umurari village on the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno state this morning. The dead bodies have been evacuated from the scene while those injured have been taken to the government hospital for treatment. Security officers are working to restore calm to the area.
