The Nigerian Senate's official twitter handle shared an excerpt of his statement on the floor of the nation assembly today.

Facebook to be banned in Papua New Guinea for a month

Facebook will be banned for one month in Papua New Guinea and during the period of the ban, the country will identify fake Facebook profiles and consider the website's effect on the country.  Communication minister Sam Basil said users posting pornography and false information would be identified. He also suggested the country could set up its own social network to compete with Facebook.

Liverpool FC signs Fabinho in £44m deal.

Liverpool FC  have announced the signing of midfielder  Fabinho  from  Monaco  on a five-year deal for a fee of £43.7million plus bonuses worth £4.3million. The 24-year-old Brazil international who will officially join the club on July 1 arrived at Merseyside on Monday with his agent,  Jorge Mendes , and his wife to complete his medical and agree personal terms that will keep him at Anfield until June 2023. “This is something that I always wanted,  this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional,” Fabinho told the club’s official website. “A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t have to think that much about coming over. “I will try to create my own history at this football club. Just One Nigerian university listed among top 1,000 universities in the world! Guess which?

The only academic institution in Nigeria ranked among the top 1000 universities in the world is the University of Ibadan. This is according to the global rankings released by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). No other Nigerian university made the list as University of Ibadan is ranked 991st worldwide, and 14th in Africa. Harvard University is ranked number 1 for the seventh year in a row followed by Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “University of Cambridge, U.K, is ranked fourth, while University of Oxford, also in the U.K, is ranked fifth. “Among the top 10 universities are University of California, Berkeley, U.S (sixth); Princeton University, U.S (seventh); Columbia University, U.S (eighth); California Institute of Technology, U.S (ninth); and the University of Chicago, U.S (10th).”  Also on the list are seven universities from South Africa, four from Egypt, and one each from Uganda and Tunisia.
