This morning ,at least one person has been killed after soldiers and Biafra supporters clashed at Nkpor in Onitsha, Anambra state. The supporters were celebrating 2016 Biafran Heroes remembrance day today May 30th when the clash took place.  See more photos below.........

A 25 year old Yakura Idi, pictured above, from Gwange Ward, Damaturu, Yobe state has been arrested for allegedly killing her eight-month old son, Mohammed Idi. According to a statement by the Yobe state police commissioner, Zannah Ibrahim, Yakura was arrested after she used a knife to kill her son and then buried his corpse in a shallow grave in her family compound.

Reportedly, Two officers were killed in an attack carried out by 12 gunmen in Osara police station in Adavi Local government area of Kogi state today May 19th.  According to  The Nation , this morning, the gunmen stormed the police station at about 2am with the purpose of stealing from the station's armory and also set free one of their colleagues who was in jail.

The Edo State Government has said that striking workers in the state civil service stand the risk of losing their salaries if they continue in the strike with NLC. This is contained in a statement by the Head of Service, Gladys Idahor. The statement in part reads;

On Wednesday, May 11 ,3 young women of the same family were shot dead by male relatives who suspected them of having relations with men. The women, aged 22, 28, and 29, all lived in the same house.

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has reacted to President Buhari's comment in his CNN interview where he stated that he has not seen the proof of life video released last month by CNN where 15 of the Chibok girls were recorded by Boko Haram showing they are alive and well. According to the Minister of labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, the Federal government is carefully studying and considering the N56,000 minimum wage t that was proposed by the Nigeria Labour Congress last month. Ngige said this while receiving the executive members of the Organisation of Trade Unions of West Africa (OTUWA) in Abuja yesterday May 9th.

Yesterday May 9th,Two police officers identified as Usman Adamu and Usman Ango, were shot dead by armed robbers at Airport road junction in Warri, Delta state.  According to the spokesperson of the state's police command, Celestina Kalu, the deceased officers, who were members of the Joint Task Force, had gone to the bank on mufti and without their arms, to withdraw some money when they were shot during a robbery attack;

Yesterday May 2nd, The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 24 years old Rose Uche Igbinoba (pictured), with 193 wraps of cocaine hidden inside packs of sweets at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. She arrived Nigeria from Dubai and was arrested after the whitish substance weighing 3.230kgs ‎which she wrapped in the sweet packs, tested positive for cocaine.
